Should I upgrade to an HD camcorder?
I have a Canon Elura 100 camcorder that shoots 640×480 or 720×480 video quite well. I'm thinking upgrading to the Canon HV20 or HG10, because they can shoot at 1080p (1920×1080) resolution. Is it worth the money ($ 700-800)? What should I go or HV20 HG10? What about Sony or Panasonic?
Hello, HD camera is much better than his old faithful Canon Elura, offering better resolution and depth. To your question whether it is worthwhile or not greatly depending on use. I've been using a full HD camera for about 6 months and never regret. This because the use of the camera quite extensive and have also done a pretty good extra income out of it, so for me, it's worth. But if you rarely use, maybe stick to his old Elura. Note that once you buy a new camcorder, is just part of the cost. You may have to consider additional ( spare) batteries, case (bag), lenses, etc, etc …. In my case, I also I have to buy a new PC to accommodate the new camcorder. 
Also I need to buy a Full HD TV Full HD DVD player for the benefit of the HD experience. I struggled a big hole in your pocket ….. As for your other question on the make and model, can you could follow my method. I went to the outlet that sells the camera and try. Personally I use SONY although the chosen model was not first in the popular review, but just because they feel. You just have to buy any model of his fancy, but make sure you get a good support after-sales service. Best Regards.
