For Squidoo Money, Use These 3 Tips
A powerful web 2.0 website is getting the attention of Internet marketers from around the world now that they realize they can promote stuff and build their brands using the site.
Squidoo makes it easy to create a web page (they call it a lens) because they have so many useful features that add content with just a few mouse clicks. Yet the most successful Squidoo marketers have discovered that linking their lenses to other parts of Squidoo has a powerful impact on their marketing results, as does linking to their lenses from outside of Squidoo.
Squidoo marketing can be improved using 3 easy steps that boost website traffic and brand recognition. They are:
1. Use the forums at Squidoo. Squidoo calls the forums SquidU, but they still let you connect with other community members and create friendships. By becoming friendly with other lensmasters, you can get others to link to your lenses and bookmark them on their web 2.0 accounts. You can even get senior forum members called SquidAngels to come and bless your lenses, which always leads to good things, like higher rankings.
2. The Squidoo Groups – these groups are collections of one or more lenses, categorized in some way, and you can join some related groups and become active on that page by leaving comments, answering polls and voting on things. When you get your lens listed in other groups, or even your own groups, it creates more links back to your lens, and thus generates higher rankings and more website traffic.
3. Be active on other related Squidoo lenses – read their lens content, and post relevant useful comments with a link back to your lens. Don’t just leave a “visit my lens” spam comment – be useful first, and then you can link back to your lens. If you feel the need to provide advice to the lensmaster, you might want to do that in private, rather than leave it where it might be misinterpreted.
Squidoo also has buttons that let you bookmark a lens using the popular web 2.0 bookmarking sites, like Digg, Twitter, Myspace and Stumbleupon. Try bookmarking related lenses at Squidoo, and then leave a positive comment on the lens you bookmarked, letting them know you like the lens and that you bookmarked it for them. They will very often do the same for your lenses.
Learning the need to work with others on Squidoo is a good lesson in life, since it is the exact way things work in the offline world. If you do something kind for someone, they will almost always do something kind for you, so don’t be afraid to start the ball rolling, and see how far you can take your Squidoo lenses and the income they produce for you.
