Photography Tips for Doctors – Improving Medical shots
Hi, I'm Miriam Davidovitz, a professional photographer from Israel.
I here to give you a quick brief advice on how to improve their medical shots.
The 5 most important to get good photos:
1. A good camera
2.Towards daylight and no flash
3.Using a tripod
4. Keep clean and focused structure
5. Choosing the correct file size.
1. Especially in digital photography, the camera quality is critical, not to use your mobile phone or handheld digital camera, no matter how many mega pixels with the manufacturer promises that have.
Invest in a good camera with good optical qualities and a good digital sensor. It will make all the difference.
Important – choose a camera that can be operated manually.
My recommendation – the likes of Canon or Nikon. Stock brands, not HP etc.
The price for a good quality camera should start at 800 euros. For example – Nikon D70 digital camera is simpler than you may begin.
The choice a manually operated camera lets you adjust the aperture and shooting speed according to your needs – which is the maximum focus, the entire frame.
If you operate the camera automatically determines an average which may not be what you are after.
Plus – surely will be automatically activated flash.
2. Day light – must use the daylight and not because the flash lighting is a direct light that comes just from the front, wiping out all the details.
Plus – that makes the person look bright and red meat.
Since your goal as a physician is to document improvement and change is important for you to choose a light source that emphasizes the details.
It would be best studio strobes, but I guess most of you do not go into so much trouble.
The second is the best – the light of day.
Choose a north window at his clinic and the patient feels his side.
Make no direct sunlight – because that will create strong shadows that hide your important data.
The window light source will give a good contrast of light from the side of the track, which will focus on the structure of the patient's hands, face, etc.
Return to your place of choice for each of its meetings. This will also ensure consistency of documentation.
3. Tripod
Taking pictures with light from the window, even when the camera at 400 ASA (ASA up before getting digital noise) dictates relatively low speed photography.
If you do not want your image is blurry – using a tripod.
This will also force you to concentrate and be patient automatically a "best model."
4. Center of your frame – Place the item, say a pair of hands, right in the center of your frame.
Like playing photography.
This will give you much information.
Ask the patient to remove jewelry, and if he is using a pattern to give a piece smooth color, toned down, of material you have prepared in advance.
Focusing the camera on the main point of interest.
Set the camera to stop F-8 or higher to ensure the focus of the entire frame.
I recommend a second angle too – zero – this gives you a perspective that emphasizes any package or growth.
5. You should adjust the file size to your needs.
If you are going to display images on your computer only after a small (File of 640 x 1200 pixels with a good quality), is sufficient.
If feeds are to be printed to use RAW files. These are the largest files in the camera must be treated in a photo editing program and is highly recommended for any use, but are smaller after simply because they are better files.
Basic terms of the photo:
ASA – sensitivity of the film and camera sensitivity digital
leave open F = = the "hole" through which light enters the camera
speed photography – the amount time that the opening remains open to the camera to record the light
