Going to Africa on Safari! This is how you should be packing!
Packing for your long-awaited safari to Africa may appear as a task so little to begins. Then suddenly realizes he does not have enough information to help you make good decisions about what to bring or leave behind. Many fall prey to anxiety trying to figure out what to take to enjoy some level of comfort. A few commands that can help in the process of packing for your African safari are given here:
In general, keep the bag light
You probably limited to about 30 to 40 kilos on your flight. This, together must somehow determine how much will take over the house. In any case, it is best if capable of the same tote bags for short distances if necessary.
In addition, we like more room to spare for souvenirs at the end of the safari! Most travelers pack too. Choose clothing with multiple uses. Find articles toiletries in sample sizes. Remove all material available on your computer before you leave home.
Get a bag or backpack:
For use daily as water bottles, camera equipment, sunscreen, etc, get a day pack or backpack. Use this as your carry-on baggage on its flights, and keep with you on safari and hiking. A pack a day keeps hands free. Photo Shop gear and important papers in plastic bags inside to protect them from dirt and moisture.
Packing your carry-on luggage:
Use your backpack / bag as hand luggage for flights. In it, a change clothing, camera equipment, all medications (especially essential prescription drugs), several changes of socks and underwear, and other irreplaceable items or to break.
Get a duffel bag or soft-side luggage:
A sturdy canvas need not be expensive zip. Depending on the amount that brings, you need a canvas about 26 "to 30" long and about 12 "to 15" in diameter. Look for heavy nylon fabric, wrap-around Zip lock bags and high strength. You can buy a canvas bag with wheels built from almost anywhere.
Use plastic bags, sacks nylon things, smaller zipper duffels or special mesh bags to separate clothing and equipment within the canvas. Isolate liquid toiletries in sturdy bags zip loc. Bring a few spare bags, including one for laundry.
What kind of clothes for your African safari?
Plan to dress in layers so you can adapt to changes in temperature. Be sure to bring warm clothing all in your packing. You will have at least one heavy wool sweater and as a warm fleece jacket in season from May to October – at least in the case of East African Safari.
You can buy clothing designed especially for travel. Avoid tight jeans. If you like hand-washing clothes, bring socks and underwear made of silk or cotton-synthetic blend that will dry overnight.
You can be on your feet much on game drives where you can stand in the vehicle to view wildlife. Wear comfortable and supportive shoes. You could consider light hiking boots for ankle more support.
Style Tips
Safari dress is functional and casual, while cleaning and presentable in shelters. In local communities, and to some extent on the lodges, your dress should be modest and conservative. Although many tourists are not sensitive to this, travelers to observe this is likely to receive a warmer welcome. Avoid tank tops and sleeveless shirts. You should not wear shorts usually in cities, and women will have better reception if they have a medium length skirt. (A skirt is also unbeatable travel to the pit stops on the open road country so you can maintain some degree of modesty without hiking all the way to the horizon!).
Recommended Clothing
If you are on this journey over a period of 2 weeks, the list can serve as a good guide on what to bring forward in terms of clothing. Does not take much more and you do not have space for more on your canvas in any way!
The list:
Short-sleeved cotton shirts – 5. Poles are more style versatile tees
Long sleeve shirts cotton – 2. These may include light shirts for sun protection clothing and cotton flannel shirts and layered turtleneck
Trousers: two pairs, comfortable and loose. A lighter, a little heavy for the heat of the afternoon.
travel skirt for women. It is not necessary, but highly recommended.
Underwear – 7-10 changes. Due to the very bumpy road, fasteners are suggested for women, although generally do not have one.
Jacket fleece
Light rain jacket with a hood. A jacket breathable waterproof it can double as a windbreaker. This should be sized to fit over a sweater or fleece jacket

Sun hat with wide brim
Footwear
Pack comfortable walking shoes. Look for shoes with good arch support. Sports sandals. Not necessary, but very highly recommended, especially if you tom taking an extension of the beach / coast.
Socks – 5 to 7 pairs. During May to August, one or two pairs should be warm wool hiking socks, Capilene or Thermax.
Clothing Optional
Swimwear (recommended for diving in pools, except June July and August, when it can be too cold to swim-speaking East African countries)
Short trips, long cut for modesty (not needed from May to August – East Africa speaking)
This commands are only suggestions for your convenience. It is important to note that often you can wash clothes during the safari, but may not be Dryers available.
