PENTAX Km was developed to allow first time digital SLR users and family photographers to enjoy the digital SLR picture quality easily. The camera enhanced version incorporates a sophisticated functions – including the innovative body Shake Reduction mechanism – to help photographers. It also offers a compact, lightweight, designed by the incorporation of advanced PENTAX reduction.
A along with the height of the PENTAX Km, PENTAX will also launch two DA L-series interchangeable zoom lenses: the smc PENTAX-DA L 18-55mmF3.5-5.6AL and smc PENTAX-DA L 50-200mmF4-5.6ED. Designed optical performance common to all Pentax lenses.

Despite incorporating a large image sensor size (23.5 mm by 15.7 mm), height of the PENTAX Km offers a compact, lightweight body to ensure portability exceptional maneuverability. This was made possible by the development of a compact, lightweight and high rigidity stainless steel chassis, reducing joints Shake Reduction mechanism battery. The camera grip has also been redesigned to assure firm, comfortable grip on the camera body.
Simplified system operation for easy camera
The PENTAX Km features a new control system design, which places most of the buttons and levers on the side gripping the camera, making it easier for first time digital SLR users to operate the camera. Moreover, the functions of each button or lever are instantly displayed in the camera's LCD monitor with a single press of the help button to facilitate moving the position of the image sensor vertically and horizontally at high speed using existing PENTAX interchangeable.
*** Lenses compatible with this mechanism are: PENTAX K-, KA, KAF, KAF2, and KAF3 mount lenses, screw mount lenses (with effectively removes sensor dust and stains fall on an adhesive sheet positioned at the bottom of the SR unit, eliminating any possibility of returning to the surface image sensor. This DR system even offers a Dust Alert function, how user friendly is more updated, with automatic detection of situations and sharpness, are automatically adjusted by the camera for optimum results, the user can concentrate on image composition and shutter opportunity.
High quality 10.2 effective megapixels, it produces beautiful images, very detailed with subtle gradations and delicate texture description.
