What is the best backdrop for a photography studio?
I am setting up a studio in my house and want to know your views and advice on the merits of the best material? I have looked in muslin, paper and vinyl. What is the most professional looking? I use only one black and one white for infants and children. Thanks I have also carpeted, not proper role?
Perki is more or less spot on. I mainly use muslin (needs steam ironing clothes before use if you want without wrinkles). Occasionally the use of vinyl and used paper. The thing to remember with vinyl and paper is that if you intends to dismantle the background and store the rolls, then they must be stored upright, so you need height. If store on the ground, their weight will cause the compression and you end up with a regular fold over when you unroll them again. Also consider using a gray 18% – light may stop on 02.01 for white, 3 black and stops in addition to easy gel of any color.
