proportional to the pinhole lens aperture?
I am doing a school project to compare the resolution of a digital pinhole lens digital camera. I've been told for the pinhole diameter and lens apertures as large as possible and that it would cause light to slide within the pinhole camera. So it may be proportional? and if you can, I'm confused as to how to go about making these proportions.
I'm sure you mean a hole "target" or the deck in a digital camera body .. A D-SLR body for a type of P & S camera will not work .. The resolution will not be a contest. The camera with a glass lens is going to win many times and all hands down .. There is no way the pin hole opening could be proportional to a camera lens opening. The pin hole should af / stop something like F/200 or more (vrs hole diameter distance to the plane the image) to – 1 – keep Enuf backlight for the display, and 2 – is Enuf small to actually have the effect of applying pin hole and produce an image able to see quality. Here is a mathematical formula on the size of pinhole. Google – hole or words such as cameras and study it ..! If the hole Pin just a little too big, no image will be used, if too small, will also be of poor quality. Glass lenses have the advantage – focus .. Pin hole cameras, projectors, no. There is no way you can make proportional. camera lenses will not be F/200 (nothing else) and pinhole cameras can not be f / 3.5 or 5.6 or even f/32 or f/22 … You may want to find a new school project, like running a car engine in the water ..
