How to Make Your Own Battery
1. A clip acts as a switch On / Off. Just remove one of the extreme metal tray in contact with the battery to kill power. 2. There is no magic to a mobile charger. It is little more than a plastic strip of copper wire wrapped designed to deliver power (resigned in tension and becomes DC of course) an outlet to the battery of the phone.
So if an emergency occurs and you find yourself without your charger or an outlet work is actually very easy to MacGyver together a device that uses AA batteries to give the phone quickly enough juice to make an emergency call a few. The entire process, which resembles a miniature version of launching a car, take a few minutes and uses parts that can be found at Radio Shack for a total of less than $ 5.
To do it yourself, you need: a few AA batteries, a four-tray AA battery, a metal clip and two alligator clips. That is all, and the finished product must be able to charge almost any phone (with the notable exception of the iPhone, which does not have an easily removable battery) if you are in the desert or in anticipation of a power outage.
Check voltage
The first step is to check the voltage on the phone's battery. Most clock at about 3.7 volts, but should leave the phone and read the fine print to do with security. This information will allow you to calculate how many AA batteries needs. The key is to use enough to overcome just phone battery voltage to be used unless there is not enough juice to charge the battery, but connect too and can burn the whole thing. 1.5 volt AA batteries each, for charging a battery of 3.7 volts requires a combination of three of them for a total of 4.5 volts.
Pop the batteries in the tray of AA. Is a tray of four of the battery, so you have to put some more in the last slot AA In order to complete the circuit. This is where the clip comes in handy. Deployment and the end is a hook through metal spring at the negative end of the empty slot. Then take the other end and bend to touch the metal contact on the outside of the tray on the positive end of the same slot.
This clip will act as a kind of switch on / off, as long as it is in contact with the spring and the metal contact, energy will flow and the charger will illuminate.
To activate the charger off, simply by moving one end of the paper clip out of one of the contacts
In an emergency, homemade title = "battery charger"> battery chargers can be used to power other devices too. And while some devices may require more batteries, bigger cells or CD or a tray of the larger battery, the process is basically the same as for phones. Taking care to make sure both clips are not in contact with each other, closing the red alligator clip to the side battery so that its metal jaws are touching the metal contact positive, and the black clamp off the battery so that it is touching the negative.
The battery is charging. But beware: As this mechanism does not have built makeshift in the form of current limiting or protection against overheating you want to keep an eye (and a finger) on it to ensure that not too hot. If the phone's battery starts to heat up, unplug it immediately or may be damaged. And there are other reasons why you should only try this if you have no choice: the process may violate your warranty, and the alligator strong clips can scratch up the plastic casing of a battery. And, to be sure, I do not recommend using this method to charge the battery for more than 10 minutes at a time. When finished, put the battery in the phone and start dialing. With some AA batteries and a $ 5 party, anyone can improvise a phone charger emergency mobile. Here's how, and how to extend their skills to work boot-in digital cameras, laptops and even power tools.
