ocular collection?
noticed similar question and I'm curious bout mine. I have a Celestron 8 inch Starhopper f / 6 (strange eh?) Of 1219 mm focal length eyepieces: all 1.25 "28 mm 26 mm formats Orthoscopic Super Plossl Series 4000 Meade 25 mm Plossl (included with telescope) Super 12mm DSO 9.7 mm Super Plossl Series 4000 Plossl Eyepiece 9mm Planetary TMB What do you think? How? I think it's pretty decent, but I know that in fact need a comprehensive field low power eyepiece. Orthos have a narrow field of vision and SP is not enough. Suggestions? Think of a 1.25 "or panopticon Nagler. Rumbo to 1.25 format I do not want to buy a new set of 2inchers expensive. And too lazy to get 1.25, while the adapter observation. Any suggestions? More reasonable get five points. Thanks and clear skies!
If you want to put the entire field format the maximum achievable field of view is 24 mm with optical Panamericana. This will give you 1.35 degrees, which is the largest field of its scope may be provided by 1.25-inch format. A 20mm Nagler would have the same field vision, but will be a two-inch ocular and therefore is not in dispute in accordance with established norms, which required only 1.25-inch format. Most of the Naglers 1.25 inches is 16 mm. It will give you a little under 1.1 degrees, which is substantially smaller in area than the American perspective. Be better corrected. The States question "field of low-end power." Note that, although low power is matched to the width field, which depends on the design. The 24 mm Pan will 51x enlargement. You can get the same field of view, not greater, not less, getting the Televue Plossl 32 mm (1.25 inches). The TV32mm cost about 1 / 2 to 1 / 3 of the American perspective. Its field of view is identical to the optical Pan but the increase is only 38x. Optics biggest problem is that it's Pan poor off-axis corrected can lead to some strange effects if you pay attention to certain objects, such as turning on the full moon circle of a soccer ball when it moves to the side of the field. However, it is extremely popular among owners of old, it is one of the lightest out there. options optics of great benefit Pan The relationship with the 32 mm Plossl TV is that it will cause the sky looks dark and black – more like outer space. The lower your extension, plus the sky background tends to be gray. So if you have the funds and wants to stay with 1.25 "format, and also want the widest possible field Given the scope of the 1.25-inch format, the Pan 24 is probably the best option to save the off-axis aberration mentioned. Color Correction in the Pan 24 is also poor, much lateral color is shown as a lime green stripe on the moon as it moves off axis. But only you will find on Jupiter and the Moon, and most likely will change the display of higher energy and not have to deal with it. People in the know sometimes sacrifice some field vision to achieve optical Pan 22, which is a best-corrected piece of glass. That would give you 1.24 degrees at 55x and is probably the best compromise between these options. Its maximum intensity field of view with 28 mm is a bit in 1.2 degrees 43x. So again it would be LESS field of view with the 16mm Nagler. But you will not get much higher field of vision, moving the Pan 22. Just a little more. So you have a lot of compensation to be considered. I have noted that by staying with 1.25 inch are reducing its field of view dramatically. A 40mm eyepiece two inches, with 70 degrees as the University Optics MK70 ($ 225) or the Pentax XW ($ 500) or optical 41mm Pan (around $ 600) would give a whopping 2.3 degrees and get some very nice views. There are some "Uwano" offerings that are less expensive William Optics. Of the three mentioned above Optics of the University is the lightest and the most appropriate for a baby (due to balance). The beam leaving its mechanism would be rather broad approach, however, more than 6 mm, which is larger than your pupil is likely to be. As some light is lost to the field of 40mm wide and his 8 inch scope will conduct a scope of 6 inches. But many people find that a sentence of commitment to a panoramic view of the objects that you can not see it otherwise. I'm not sure why you get a two-inch eyepiece will provide you with a set of two inchers. You can have two-inch eyepiece and use the rest. Even those of us who have three or four inches in both eyepieces are using 1.25 inches at higher magnification (the point equilibrium between 2 and 1.25 inches is usually 20 mm, 17 mm, but for the Naglers). So basically, it would have a wide field and regular eye your choice of 1.25 inches. Good luck, GN
